There is heavy presence of security operatives at the Ondo state house of assembly complex as impeachment proceedings against Agboola Ajayi, the deputy governor, begin.
The assembly is deliberating on allegations of gross misconduct against Ajayi.
About 10 police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) patrol vehicles are stationed at the gate of the assembly.
Journalists were directed to call Gbenga Omole, the chairman of the house, committee on information, for permission to gain access to the complex.

Only legislators and staff of the assembly were allowed into the premises.
Ajayi defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , and he has indicated interest to run against Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor, in October.
The governor had sacked all the aides attached to Ajayi’s office and his police escort was withdrawn until Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), intervened.
