One more person in Lagos has contracted Ebola and is currently receiving treatment at the isolation ward at Yaba, minister of health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed on Monday evening.
This means Nigeria has had 17 cases in all while Lagos currently has two Ebola patients, one addition to the only one announced on August 26.
The minister made the confirmation while clarifying the opening speech he delivered earlier in the morning at the emergency meeting of the National Council on Health at the Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, where he gave the total number of EVD cases as 16.
Although the minister was mum on the identity of the latest victim, she is believed to be the wife of the doctor who died after attending to a victim of the virus in Port Harcourt.
