At exactly 2:20am on Sunday, Okwulehie Ikechukwu, returning officer of Okrika Ogu/Bolo federal constituency of Rivers state, declared Gogo Tamuno of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election in the area.

Tamuno polled a total of 11,668 votes to defeat Maureen Tamuno of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 5,995 votes.

Ikechukwu made the announcement at council hall, Port Harcourt, the collation centre for Rivers East senatorial district.

He explained that he was unable to declare the result at the constituency as a result of violence.

  1. Your comment..president buhari have destroyed the platform that brought him in bcs of his selfish ambition and he can never be president in 2019

  2. Apc is a great party that is the reason why he could take over power from PDP, so people are talking out of selfish interest, PDP introduce hijacking of materials, so APC is trying to copy from them

  3. Any vote for APC is a vote for hardship, depression, poverty, stone age development. If APC Federal Government has done well or at least maintain the same statique of the previous govt, we could have clapped for them and vote them again and again. How can one explain that a bottle of red oil is 2,000 Naira. Rice and other staple foods in Nigeria gone, poverty and hunger everywhere. Is that the so called CHANGE or CHAIN as we were promised. I do not believe that any normal Nigerian whether North or South, East or West should cast a vote for APC so that they will wake up from celebration of the presidential election victory and face the reality of governance. The president and his cabinet are not yet ready to work so when they start, Nigerians will know. Till we start to see the gains why we voted APC at the centre, they will not get a single vote from Nigerians. A word is enough for the wise. This hunger, hardship and APC poverty must stop now so that we will vote our able president back to power in 2019 or I support his wife statement and decision.
