There is currently a margin of 49,937 between George Sekibo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Andrew Uchendu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers east senatorial district election.
While Sekibo has so far polled a total of 77,691 votes, Uchendu has managed 27,754.
The results of Emouha and Ikwerre local government areas are still being expected as of the time of filing this report.

The court of appeal sitting in Abuja sacked Sekibo late last year, and ordered a fresh exercise, but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could not conclude rerun election as a result of widespread violence.
