Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has recovered from COVID-19, after 12 days in isolation.
The governor was confirmed positive for the virus on December 12, 2020.
Gboyega Akosile, chief press secretary to the governor, confirmed the development in a post on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

Simon Lalong, governor of Plateau state, has also tested negative for the coronavirus, one week after he was confirmed positive.
The governor went into isolation on December 17 after contracting the virus — his family members were, however, said to have tested negative.
Lalong’s recovery was announced in a statement by Makut Macham, his spokesman.
According to the statement, the governor urged residents to get tested for the virus, and not discriminate against persons who have been confirmed positive.

“Having contacted the virus and undergone treatment myself, I wish to reiterate that COVID-19 is not a death sentence as early detection helps to address it and reduce chances of death,” the governor was quoted to have said.
“We should not stigmatise against anyone who tests positive or is suspected of having the disease. Rather, such people should serve as motivation for others to voluntarily test in order to improve the safety of all.”
