President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved changes in the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
Mr. Andrew Yakubu has been replaced as NNPC group managing director by Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha.
Mr Anthony Ugonna Muoneke is now the managing director of NPDC, Ms Aisha Mata Abdurrahman group executive director, commercial and investment (NNPC) and Dr Attahir B. Yusuf, group executive director, business development, NNPC.
Until his appointment, Dawha was the managing director of Integrated Data Services Limited (IDSL).

He was born in Biu, Borno State, on March 29, 1954 and holds a B. sc (1977) and an M.sc (1985) degree in chemical engineering. He also got his doctorate in 1988.
He had lectured at the Borno State College of Science and Technology from 1978 to 1984 before becoming a director at Borno State College Basic Studies in 1985.
He started his career in NNPC in 1988.

Muoneke, the new managing director of the NPDC, is from Anambra state.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985 and has over 29 years’ experience in the oil and gas as well as the energy and power sectors, including serving as executive director, finance & administration, Niger Delta Power Holding Company Ltd. (NDPHC).
The announcements were made by presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati.
