A suicide bomber attacked a camp of internally displaced persons in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, on Sunday, killing an unspecified number of people.
A security source confirmed the attack to TheCable but did not give details.
In September, Boko Haram hit a camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Malkohi, Yola, Adamawa state, killing seven children.
Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, quoted Bindo Jibrilla, governor of Adamawa state, as saying that seven children were killed while 10 were injured.

“SAD NEWS: The Governor of Adamawa just informed the Northern States Governors’ Forum that an explosion took place in an IDP camp in Yola killing seven children and injuring ten persons,” el-Rufai wrote on Facebook.
“May Allah grant repose to their souls and provide doc our to the people of Adamawa and Nigerians at large. May Allah expose these heartless criminals, Amen.”
On Friday, Angele Dikongue- Atangana, UNHCR representative to Nigeria, said in Abuja, that the number of IDPs in the country had surged to an all-time high, at 2.2 million.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given the Nigerian forces till December to conquer insurgency in the country.
