President Bola Tinubu has withdrawn the nomination of Imam Kashim Ibrahim Imam as the chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesman, said it is “with immediate effect”.
All other appointments to the board and management team of FERMA remain valid, he added.
A controversy broke out over his appointment because of his age and experience.

The 24-year-old first-class graduate of mechanical engineering from the University of Sussex only completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in August 2022.
His father, Kashim Ibrahim Imam, who is an associate of the president, was reportedly taken unawares by the appointment.
TheCable understands that his son was nominated by David Umahi, minister of works.
