Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, has reportedly been attacked at Nwanja Junction on Trans-Amadi road.
Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor’s spokesman, said the attack was carried out by operatives of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) and soldiers of the Nigerian army attached to Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation.
He said the incident took place on Saturday while the governor was on project inspection in the state.
He said the SARs personnel and soldiers in the minister’s convoy hit the governor’s escort rider and attacked the policemen in the pilot car.
