Supporters of Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano state, have called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to investigate Abdullahi Ganduje, the state governor, over alleged bribery.
The group also called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to join in investigating the case and to take necessary action.
At a press conference held to mark the 60th birthday of Kwankwaso in Kano on Sunday, the group described the alleged action of Ganduje as a dent on the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“As culture of Kwankwasiyya disciples, we normally gather every year on a day like this to commemorate the birthday of our leader, not only because of the position of authority he holds in this country, but because of the unique qualities he possess,” Kabiru Haruna, chairman of the group, said.
