I have brought down 10 airplanes, ‘Abubakar Shekau’ says in fresh video

A day after ‘Abubakar Shekau’ released a video debunking his death, he has released yet another footage, this time claiming to have brought down a total of 10 military aircraft.

The latest footage, which was obtained by AP, showed a man alleged as one of the pilots of the missing Nigerian air force jet.

The man, who claimed to be a wing commander, said he sustained injuries when the jet was shot down on September 11.

He further said he did not know the whereabouts of his co-pilot.

“I’m a pilot of the Nigerian air force,” he said.

“On September 11, I was assigned on a mission to Kawuri, Borno state. During the mission, we were shot down and our aircraft crashed. To this day, I don’t know the whereabouts of my second pilot.

“At the time of the crash, I sustained cuts and broken hand and some other injuries to the head.”

The video further showed how the insurgent murdered the alleged officer in a gruesome manner.

On Thursday, the defence headquarters maintained that both Abubakar Shekau and his impostor, Isa Damasaka had been killed.

The military dismissed the video, expressing confidence that it was the impostor of Shekau who was killed during its operation.
