Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United attacking midfielder, has won the English Premier League (EPL) player of the month (POTM) award for December.
The Premier League announced the award on its website on Friday while handing the Portuguese midfielder the trophy.
The former Sporting Lisbon playmaker, who also won the award in February, June and November 2020, becomes the first player to win the award four times in a calendar year.
The Red Devils’ penalty specialist triumph in November further makes him the first player to secure consecutive POTM awards this season.

Fernandes has also won the same number of POTM awards as Cristiano Ronaldo, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Alan Shearer.
The 26-year-old expressed his excitement at winning the award while also stating that he desires to win other trophies.
“Three goals and four assists was a complete month, scoring and assisting your team-mates is perfect. I want to achieve other trophies and awards but I’m really happy to make history,” Fernandes said.

The Portugal international has become a creative force at Old Trafford since arriving last January and has been central to Man United’s rise to the top of the Premier League this season.
Fernandes won the award ahead of seven others in an eight-man list that included Marcus Rashford, his Manchester United team-mate, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s John Stones.
