Buhari: 2015 elections ‘a watershed’ for Nigeria

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, General Muhammadu Buhari, has said that the 2015 general elections will determine if the country is prepared for progress or not.

The three-time presidential aspirant, who on Tuesday, declared the interest to give the highest office in the land another trial, made the statement in Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti, while commissioning  Ekiti Parapo Square, a 12,000-seater project constructed by outgoing governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi.

He called on Nigerians to be agents of change, urging them to ensure that they collect their voter cards and participate actively in the  election.

He also described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party that lacks the interest of the nation at heart, saying APc is a better platform to change the fortunes of the nation.

“Next year, I believe, is going to be another watershed in the Nigeria political scene,” he said.

“It is no doubt that Nigerians have been traumatised under the PDP leadership. Nigeria deserves democracy and we are going to get it, God willing, next year. So we have to be prepared for the elections.

“It is important to talk to the less-privileged to collect their permanent voter cards in preparation for the 2015 elections. This is the only missile against the PDP tyranny. We must take this seriously because the APC is seriously determined to offer a better alternative platform.”

Buhari commended Fayemi for his successes as governor and congratulated Ekiti on the 18th anniversary of its creation.

“I am indeed very happy to be part of this success story,” he said.

“Fayemi has been able to prove that what is expected of any leader is selfless service”

The governor thanked the former head of state for his visit and also expressed appreciation to his people for their support and cooperation in the last four years of his administration.
