Buhari: 4 more years for PDP will ruin Nigeria

Muhammadu Buhari, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that having the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in government in 2015 would be catastrophic for Nigeria.

The former head of state spoke at a meeting of APC northern leaders and stakeholders in Kaduna on Saturday.

Buhari expressed concerns about the deliberate plot by the PDP to polarise the country along the lines of religion and ethnicity ahead of the 2015 elections.

While lamenting the level of insecurity and economic backwardness in the country, Buhari said that the PDP was desperate to hold on to power and was seeking to achieve that by every means at its disposal.

He decried the massive deployment of soldiers and other security operatives for the last governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states, saying the abducted Chibok schoolgirls would have been rescued since if the federal government had deployed such number of soldiers to the northeast.

Underscoring the significance of the 2015 general election, Buhari insisted that another four years of PDP would ruin Nigeria.

He therefore called on the electorate to exercise discretion and vote wisely at all levels of the 2015 elections.

He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to refrain from disenfranchising eligible voters in the ongoing voter registration exercise, and to provide a level playing ground for all political parties and candidates.
