President Muhammadu Buhari has met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting was held at the council chambers in the presidential villa in the federal capital territory (FCT).
It is understood that the meeting deliberated on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy on the new naira notes.
The apex bank had initially fixed January 31 as the deadline for the use of old naira notes.

But it shifted the deadline as many Nigerians could not access the new N200, N500, and N1000 notes.
Appearing before an ad hoc committee of the house of representatives on Tuesday, Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, said the apex bank would continue to accept old naira notes after the deadline.
However, the CBN governor did not mention a duration of when the banks would stop collecting the old notes.

“We (CBN) are mandated to collect these money (old notes) and I stand with the house of representatives on this,” he had said.
While speaking at a rally in Ogun state recently, Tinubu said the scarcity of petrol and the naira redesign would not affect his chances of securing victory.
“They don’t want the election to hold,” the former governor of Lagos had said.
“They want to disrupt it. Will you allow that? Will you vote?”
