Buhari: Corruption killing Nigeria

Muhammadu Buhari, a former head of state and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says corruption is denying Nigerians the opportunity of benefiting from the resources of the country.

He accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of encouraging corruption and sustaining impunity, urging Nigerians to vote out the party during the forthcoming general election.

Buhari, who was in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state on Wednesday, to seek support of APC delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries, said Nigerians made a mistake by electing PDP into power.

“Nigeria has abundant resources. God has endowed us with petroleum and some mineral resources, a lot of land for farming,” he said.

“But the problem with Nigeria is massive corruption and if we don’t kill corruption in Nigeria, corruption will kill us.

“We have been suffering under the PDP for the last 15 years; the educational standard is gone; the infrastructure is gone.”

He urged Nigerians to take their destinies into their hands by ensuring that the situation of things improve.
