Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, on Friday told state house correspondents to allow him enjoy his recess.
The number four man in the country said this after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock.
Suleiman Nazif, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator from Bauchi, Dogara’s state, was also in attendance.
At the end of the meeting – the second one in two weeks – the speaker made his way to his vehicle, but journalists approached him.

Apparently not in the mood to entertain questions, Dogara managed to reply the few questions that came his way before his departure.
Asked what Nigerians should expect from the lawmakers when he finally reconvenes the assembly, he said: “Ask me the question when we reconvene, but for now allow me to enjoy my recess please.”
Dogara, who said he does not know when the recess would be over, also refused to disclose the issues that were discussed in the meeting.

“I don’t know (how long the recess would last). You should know because we adjourned during plenary session, and the media was there.”
Not discouraged by his evasive responses, the reporters asked if he was attempting to make up with the president as a result of the weighty allegations made by Abdulmumin Jibrin, former chairman of the house committee on appropriations.
“I have not heard of that. This is a distinguished senator from Bauchi and he is not a member of the house,” he said.
“So, if I come to see the president with him, you should know it is not a house matter. Make up? If there is a fight, I don’t know.”
