President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed “The Progressives”, the official monthly magazine of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe and chairman, APC caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee (CECPC), presented copies of the magazine to Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja, on Thursday.
The monthly publication, which is currently in its third edition, is said to be one of the remodelled strategic public communication tools of the ruling party and the PGF.
The publication is part of the APC’s next level public engagement strategy, which includes a weekly 30-minute television programme, a weekly 30-minute network radio programme and quarterly pullouts/inserts.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, said Buhari’s endorsement of the publication is a positive development and “morale booster”.
According to a statement issued by Issa-Onilu, the magazine grants the APC a unique reputation, as the publication will recognise “the outstanding strides that our government is making at the federal and state levels”.
“The formal presentation to President Buhari and his endorsement of the magazine is a morale booster to all stakeholders involved in the project and a signal that we are getting a grip on this essential publication,” he said.

“Our Party’s official magazine has come to stay. It is growing to become the official reference point for the outstanding strides that our government is making at the federal and state levels. It does something even more impressive: it gives our party and government a unique personality. It reinforces the APC brand and provides a positive definition to its Progressive reputation.”
The monthly publication will be distributed in print and electronic copies to the presidency, national assembly, federal government ministries, departments and agencies, state governments, APC state chapters, party leaders, supporters, media houses, and the general public.
The presentation was witnessed by Abubakar Bagudu, governor of Kebbi and chairman of PGF; Mohammed Badaru, Jigawa governor; and James Udoedehe, APC CECPC secretary.
