Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan, candidate of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by more than 2.5 million votes after the announcement of results from all 36 states of the federation as well as the federal capital territory.
Aside beating Jonathan by a total 2,571,759 votes, he has also met the constitutional procedure of securing at least 25 percent in two-thirds of all the states, having polled the said percentage in 27 states.
He is, therefore, set to be named any moment from now by Attahiru Jega, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as Nigeria’s president-elect.
