President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesperson, Buhari wished Abubakar good health and long life.
“Happy birthday and best wishes to Waziri Atiku Abubakar. I wish you good health and long life,” the statement reads.
The president also hailed Sani Bello, former military governor of Kano state, who turns 79 on November 27.

Buhari said Bello is “counted among those leaders who left the military with the foresight and intellect to establish themselves in business”.
In a related development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement celebrating Atiku, said he is an “irrepressible democrat, who remains untiring in his efforts and sacrifices towards the unity, stability and development” of the country.
The opposition party also described the former vice-president as a “remarkable leader and excellent administrator” who is committed to the progress of the country.
