President Muhammadu Buhari will host his first Presidential media chat on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, Femi Adesina, his special adviser on media and publicity, has confirmed.
“In the course of the programme, which will be broadcast live on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), President Buhari will answer questions from a panel of journalists on a broad range of current national issues,” Adesina said.
“The Presidential Media Chat will begin at 1900 hours. Other television and radio stations in the country may hook-up to NTA and FRCN to relay the programme to their viewers and listeners.”
Since becoming president on May 29, Buhari has been accused of discussing his biggest policy issues with the foreign media rather than the local media, and Wednesday’s chat will afford him the opportunity to change the perception.
