President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun state, at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The governor arrived the villa around 12:30pm and went straight to the president’s office.
The meeting is coming one week after Adekunle Akinlade, Amosun’s governorship candidate defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Akinlade had lost the ticket of the APC to Dapo Abiodun, billionaire businessman. The governor had supported the defection of Akinlade, vowing to hand over to him in 2019.

Amosun had also publicly said he would work against Abiodun.
Some members of the APC in the state house of assembly also abandoned the ruling party.
Amosun is one of the APC governors displeased with Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the ruling party, over the outcome of the primaries for the 2019 elections.
