Garba Shehu, spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari, says his principal is “greatly pained” over the continued violence in various parts of the country.
He said this on Thursday while reacting to the fresh killings seven persons in Guma local government area of Benue.
In a statement, Shehu said the repeated acts of mass killings in the country and Benue state in particular, “point to the evil design of enemies of peace and unity.”
While warning Nigerians against playing into the hands of “the agents of disunity”, he quoted Buhari as saying these “agents” and their sponsors plan to turn Nigerians against one another.

“We must resist all temptation to fall into this laid out plan,” the statement read.
“The president is greatly pained by this persistent violence and the total disregard for the sanctity of life by those he called ‘these hideously evil people who have no iota of respect for humanity, decency and civilization.’
“The president reiterates that the government will not rest on its oars in its determination to fish out these barbarous mass murderers and their clandestine sponsors.

“President Buhari equally assures Nigerians that measures being put in place by the government will, sooner than later, bring to an end, these extremely brutal and wanton killings.”

He does not need to fish anyone out as they are not hiding, but well known to him. He is as well proudly serving as their official spokesman, asking for them to be accommodated by apportioning them land as Cattle Colonies.
Crocodile Tears Indeed!!!!
I wish being “greatly pained” could secure our country or restrain the hand of the wicked. I don’t think this administration understands the situation Nigeria is in at the moment. If not Garba Shehu will have a better narrative.
