President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday meet with some south-east governors.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo were also at the meeting which took place at the presidential villa in Abuja.
There had been a tense security situation in the south-east following the launch of Operation Python Dance II by the army.
In the early days of the operation, soldiers clashed with members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Abia state.

Some soldiers raided the residence of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, sending him into hiding.
After the crackdown, the group, which is agitating for an independent state of the south-east, was subsequently proscribed by a federal high court in Abuja.
It is expected that the agitation for Biafra by some groups formed a core part of the discussion.
