Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, says President Muhammadu Buhari ought to be in charge of the power sector, while he appoints “an assertive and strong-willed person” as the head of a special task force committee.
Buhari is currently the minister of petroleum, but with Melaye’s suggestion, the president, who has appointed Babatunde Fashola, former Lagos state governor, to oversee power sector, would take up additional responsibility.
In series of messages on Twitter, the senator lamented over the instability in the sector and urged Nigerians to “push Buhari to make a change”.
Below are some of the tweets.
