Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Muhammadu Buhari as “expired” leaders.

Fayose said though he agrees with Obasanjo’s letter to Buhari earlier on Tuesday, the duo “do not represent Nigeria of today”.

In the said letter, Obasanjo asked Buhari to retire from public office and forget about seeking re-election

He also accused the president of nepotism and condoning corrupt practices committed by his allies.

In a series of tweets about the letter, Fayose said Obasanjo re-echoed his claims about Buhari.

He, however, said both leaders have “outlived their usefulness” to Nigeria.

“I agree with Obasanjo’s letter even though he didn’t say anything that I have not said about Buhari and his govt before,” he wrote.

“However,  Obasanjo and Buhari are like accuser and the accused, two of them are analogue and they do not represent the Nigeria of today.

“Obasanjo (the accuser) and Buhari (the accused) are both expired people that Nigerians are desirous of getting rid of.

“They both don’t know when they were born and have outlived their usefulness in the political life of Nigeria.”

Fayose, a fierce critic of the Buhari administration, has not been in good terms with Obasanjo for a long time.
