President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Anthony Ayinye for the post of the auditor-general of the federation.
In a letter addressed to Bukola Saraki, the senate president, and read out on the senate’s floor on Tuesday, Buhari said he had accepted Ayine’s nomination for the position by the federal civil service commission.
“The constitution of the Republic of Nigeria as amended states that auditor-general of the federation shall be appointed by the president on the recommendation of the federal civil service commission subject to confirmation by the senate,” it read.
“In line with this constitution requirements, the federal civil service commission has recommended Mr Anthony Ayine for appointment as the auditor-general of the federation.
