Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, says his principal will win another election if “one is to be held today”.
Shehu said this on Tuesday at a press briefing organised as part of activities to mark Buhari’s second year in office.
He said Nigerians were happy with Buhari’s performance in the two years of his administration and would still vote for him despite “whatever the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition parties might be saying.”
He said because “the president is doing what Nigerians want,” the confidence reposed in him has remained intact.

Buhari, who assumed office on May 29, 2015, is currently in the UK on his second medical vacation this year.
Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, and Laolu Akande, senior special assistant on media and publicity to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, were also at the briefing.
