Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe, has approved the establishment of the ministry of wealth creation, empowerment and employment generation.
The creation of the ministry was announced on Friday, in a statement issued by Baba Wali, secretary to the Yobe state government.
According to the statement, with the cabinet reshuffle, the ministry of land and solid minerals will also cease to exist in the state.
“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the creation of ministry of wealth creation, empowerment and employment generation,” the statement reads.

“Consequently, His Excellency has approved the following minor cabinet reshuffle with immediate effect: Hon. Abdullahi Bego from ministry of home affairs, information and culture to new ministry of wealth creation, empowerment and employment generation; Hon. Mohammed Lamin from ministry of land and solid minerals to ministry of home affairs, information and culture.
“Furthermore, His Excellency has also approved that the responsibility for administration and management of land matters in the State, including all issues relating to land allocation, title registration, use, searches, charting cadastral and planning and such other responsibilities as may be determined by the Governor, has been transferred to to Yobe Geographic Information System (YOGIS).
“The function of the ministry of land has therefore been subsumed into YOGIS.

“With this development, the ministry of land and solid minerals therefore ceases to exist in Yobe State.”
