Nigerian raggae-dancehall singer, Burna Boy, has terminated his deal with Aristokrat Records, the record label that helped bring him to the spotlight.
Not long ago on Twitter, the Yawa Dey crooner dismissed his mother from her role as his manager, saying: “It is time to let my mother be my mother and let my manager be my manager”.
Aristokrat Records has since removed the singer’s name as one of its signed acts, as evident in its social media accounts. The label’s imprint is also missing in Burna Boy‘s new video, Don Gorgon.
CEO of Aristokrat Records, Piriye Isokariari, did not respond to TheCable’s enquiries via email.

The cause of the friction between the singer and the record label is still unknown.
Acts currently signed onto Aristokrat Records are Pucado, Leriq, Ozone and Mojeed. Rapper Vector was once signed onto the record label but the relationship ended in an acrimonious split.
