The body of Buruji Kashamu, former senator representing Ogun east, has been laid to rest in his hometown, Ijebu-Igbo.
Kashamu died of COVID-19 complications on Saturday at the age of 62.
The former senator died at First Cardiology Consultants, a hospital in Lagos.
His remains were moved from Lagos and buried in his home on Sunday.

Kashamu will be the third reported prominent Nigerian to die of COVID-19 at First Cardiology Consultants.
In their tributes, friends and family members of the deceased described him as a philanthropist and astute politician.
Reuben Abati, former presidential spokesperson, said Kashamu brought him into politics and groomed him in the process.

“He enjoyed giving other people opportunities. He was humorous, kind-hearted, large-hearted and genial,” Abati said.
“With his death, Nigeria, Ogun state, Ijebuland and the people of Ijebu-Igbo have lost an illustrious son, who demonstrated courage, talent and creativity in everything to which he applied his energy.”
