Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF), also known as the Cable Foundation, has received a media capacity development support award.

CNJF, a partner of TheCable newspaper, is a not-for-profit organisation using the vehicle of journalism to advance transparency and accountability in government.

The organisation received the award at the Media Career Development Conference, which was held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Thursday.

Media Career Development Network (MDCN), an NGO that specialises in training, mentoring, and coaching journalists, said the award recognises CNJF’s invaluable contributions to media capacity development in Nigeria and beyond.

“In its ten years of existence, The Cable has been among the top digital platforms in the country with unique content. We urge the organisation and others to continue to raise the standard in training journalists and career development. Our organisation remains committed to focusing on the career development of journalists, which is necessary for them to perform optimally.”

Abiose Adelaja, CNJF’s programme manager, described the award as a testament to the excellent work the organisation has done so far in promoting good journalism in Nigeria.
