Cable Foundation is hiring

Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF), also known as the Cable Foundation, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated video editor to strengthen and expand its multimedia news and content production.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and edit audiovisual reports such as one-minute videos, short documentaries and long-form videos.
  • Coordinate and manage the production of TheCable’s podcast series.
  • Creatively conceptualise and curate trendy content for the YouTube channel to the extent of revenue generation.
  • Create, edit and approve video and voice-over scripts.
  • Guide, train and share knowledge with other members of the editorial team.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere (or Final Cut Pro), After Effects, Photoshop and/or Illustrator (or similar).
  • Video production skills – planning, shooting and editing.
  • Audio/podcast production skills – from planning through to post-production.
  • Sound understanding of the social media space and trending content.
  • Good knowledge of motion graphics, 3D animation and/or other moving image techniques is desirable.
  • A background in multimedia journalism is highly desirable — an eye for the news, a knack for research, an interest in creative editing and storytelling
  • Ability to work in a team as well as on self-led projects with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of scriptwriting for voice-over production.
  • Collaboration and negotiation skills.
