The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has endorsed the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) as one of its official couriers.

In a statement released on Sunday, Franklin Alao, general manager for corporate communications at NIPOST, said the endorsement comes after a successful interview for prospective courier companies by the CAC.

“Following NIPOST’s success in the interview conducted by CAC for prospective courier companies, we are pleased to announce the endorsement and accreditation of EMS/parcel as one of the official couriers of the commission,” the statement read.

“Business transactions will commence on September 1, 2020.

“With this development, EMS/parcel is officially endorsed to accept and deliver the certificates of incorporation from their teaming clientele across the country.”

CAC had, on July 24, announced that document exchange will now be carried out through designated courier companies because it would no longer accept visitors at its Lagos and Abuja offices.

“This is to control the physical presence of customers coming to submit or pick documents in the premises and also ensure their convenience in getting access to our services,” the commission said at the time.

“The commission will also put in place a process for sending/receiving documents/transactions to/from customers through e-mails.

“With this, the physical submission of original documents before collection of pre-corporation certificates will be dispensed with.

“The documents uploaded online by the customer and approved for the registration would suffice.”

NIPOST, a government-owned postal service, was founded in 1987.
