Enyimba FC of Aba succumbed to a 3-0 loss at the hands of Black Bulls in their CAF Confederations Cup Group D encounter at the Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo on Sunday.

Rume Akporoh opened scoring in the 16th minute with a well-placed header from a corner kick delivery. Both teams however could not add to the scoreline until the second half.

Another corner-kick was Enyimba’s undoing in the 57th minute, with Fidel Suosa finishing off the delivery before Ayuba Francis, the substitute who represents Nigeria at under-20 level, sealed the victory seven minutes later.

The defeat is Enyimba’s second in the group. The Aba-based side remains winless after three matches. They are also winless in eight matches in all competitions.

Coach Yemi Olanrewaju’s side is rock bottom with one point, while Black Bulls have four points after three matches and are in third place due to inferior goals difference. The top teams Zamalek and Al-Masry will face off in the Egyptian derby later tonight.

Enyimba will seek to change their continental fortunes when they host Black Bulls in the reverse fixture on matchday four at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo on January 5.
