CAF: Iheanacho is a joy to watch

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has described Kelechi Iheanacho, Super Eagles forward, as a joy to watch on the pitch of play.

The confederation took to its Twitter page on Sunday to share a short video clip that showcased Iheanacho’s dribbling prowess at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

“SuperEagles’ @67Kelechi is just a joy to watch,” it wrote.

The 24-year-old has been extraordinary for Leicester City, his English Premier League (EPL) club, in the past weeks.

The Nigerian international, who recently extended his contract with the club till 2024, netted his first-ever hat-trick during an EPL clash with Sheffield United.

He also scored twice against Manchester United to knock the Red Devils out of the FA Cup competition at the quarter-final stage.

On Friday, Iheanacho won the EPL Player of the Month award for March to become the fourth Nigerian after Austin Jay-Jay Okocha (November 2003), Peter Osaze Odemwingie (September 2010, April 2011, November 2012), and Odion Jude Ighalo (December 2015) to snag the prize.
