CAF has postponed the forthcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) to August 2025.
In a statement on Tuesday, the African football governing body said the rescheduling gives the host countries time to complete the necessary facilities for the competition.
The eighth edition of CHAN was initially billed to be held in February and co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
CAF added that the postponement was informed by advice from its “technical and Infrastructure experts” in the countries.

He expressed his confidence that the countries will wrap up the work before the new date for the competition.
“I am impressed with the ongoing construction and renovations of the football infrastructure and facilities in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda,” Motsepe said.
