Enyimba FC have suffered a 3-0 humiliating defeat to ES Setif in their 2021 CAF Confederation cup group match in Algeria.

The People’s Elephants endured their second defeat of the campaign on Sunday night and it was a total dismantling at the Stade 8 Mai in Setif.

The Fatai Osho-led side entered the match confident after their impressive 2-1 comeback in the reverse fixture a week ago. The gaffer also retained the same team that defeated the Algerian team in Aba, Abia state.

Tosin Omoyele and Anayo Iwuala maintain their partnership upfront while Kadiri Samad was replaced by Cyril Olisema. Austin Oladapo led the midfield yet again as Dare Ojo lost his starting berth to Dare Olátúnjí. Anthony Omaka returned to the base of the midfield ahead of Farouk Mohammed.

Ahkram Dhajnit secured the third goal from the penalty spot in the 65th minute, as the Algerian club dominated the encounter from the first blast of the whistle to the end of the game.

The defeat sent Enyimba second in the group, two points behind Orlando Pirates who defeated Al Ahly Benghazi 2-1 earlier in the day.
