Again, Cameroon ends Senegal’s AFCON trophy dream

The star of the Senegalese team, Sadio Mane, missed the vital penalty kick as Cameroon again defeated Senegal in a crucial African Cup of Nations tie.

The Teranga Lions are now out of the AFCON 2017 as Cameroon move to the semi-finals of the championship after a 5-4 penalty shoot out at the Stade De Franceville Saturday night.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon had defeated Senegal on penalties to win the 2002 African Cup of Nations.

The lions, interestingly the bookmakers’ favourites to defeat Cameroon in this quarter-final encounter, came out guns blazing from the onset but there were no goals in the first 90 minutes and extra time.
