MTN Nigeria has announced a partnership deal with English premiership side, Arsenal FC.
According to the telecommunications outfit, the deal will make MTN subscribers enjoy their favourite game and experience the premiership season from the “best of mobile support”.
The partnership brought together Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha, and Celestine Babayaro, all former Super Eagles player.
“I have been thinking of what Arsenal can do for Nigeria and Nigerians now I think MTN has given me a clue and it’s time to act and bring an academy from my former club here. I am sure they will listen to me,” Kanu said at the end of a programme organised in Lekki, Lagos.

He said from the assurances he got from Arsenal officials present at the event, many Nigerians were already beneficiaries of the deal.
Babayaro described it as a welcome development for Nigerian football fans.
He added that it will help grow local talent through its football clinics.

Some of the celebrities at the event were Victor Ogumefun aka Vector the Viper; Tunde Folawiyo, a top businessman; Chris Ubosi of Beat FM; Oscar Onyeama, CEO, Nigerian Stock Exchange; Paschal Dozie, MTN chairman; and Gabby Yadua, MD of Metropolitan Motors.
Fans in attendance were given a chance for a raffle draw tickets, which saw some of them win an all-expense paid trip to watch top games of the EPL in London.
