Reporting-from-

Canada battled New Zealand and a 30-minute first-half stoppage to end their match 0-0 at the Commonwealth Stadium.

The match was stopped as lightning lurked around Edmonton, but the physical contest between the two sides didn’t relent from the first minute to the last.

The Chinese dominated possession and other key statistics of the game but had to wait till Wang’s 91st-minute goal to give their fans something to cheer.
