Carlos Alcaraz has defeated Alexander Zverev to clinch the 2024 French Open men’s singles title.
The 21-year-old Spaniard claimed his first Coupe des Mousquetaires after dispatching off Zverev at the Court Philippe Chatrier on Sunday in a five-set sensational thriller 6-3, 4-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
Third seed Alcaraz and No. 4 Zverev were making their first appearance in a French Open final.
It was the first time since 2004 that the men’s final at the French Open did not include one of the “big three” — Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, or Roger Federer.

The victory also earned Alcaraz his third Grand Slam title — US Open 2022, Wimbledon 2023, and now the French Open.

The Spaniard has supplanted Andre Agassi as the youngest man to make a Slam final on all three surfaces in the professional era — since 1968.
If Alcaraz wins the Australian Open in 2025 or 2026, he will break Don Budge’s record as the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam.
