Scottish Premier League champion, Celtic, have rejected a bid of £3million for defender Efe Ambrose from Greek side Olympiacos.
According to report by English tabloid, Sportsmail, the Greek league leaders enquired over the availability of the Super Eagles of Nigeria defender with the hope of concluding a deal before the close of the transfer window.
Olympiacos new coach, Vitor Pereira, has been on the lookout for defensive reinforcement and tried to sign Bruno Alves and Joleen Lescott to no avail.
And he may likely hit the brick wall with the pursuit of Ambrose after coach Ronny Deila resolved to keep hold of his first-team regulars in the current window.

Several clubs have been linked with a move for the defender, including Barclays Premier League sides, but his future remains at Celtic Park at least until summer.
Despite dropping out of the starting XI since Belgian Jason Denayer’s return from injury, however, Ambrose insists he is happy in Glasgow.
“I am still a Celtic player and I will respect my contract. If an offer comes and Celtic accepts, fine. But otherwise, I will keep doing my best for Celtic and hopefully we will win the league again,” he said.

Ambrose moved to Celtic from Israeli side Ashdod in the summer of 2012 on a three-year deal.
Since then he has won two Scottish titles and a Scottish Cup, making 80 appearances and scoring five goals.
