Chad bombs Boko Haram’s bases in Nigeria

In response to Monday’s twin bombing at N’Djamena, capital of Chad, the country’s military has launched series of air strikes against Boko Haram bases in Nigeria.

The Chadian army said the strikes resulted to heavy human and material damage in at least six of the militants’ bases, adding that four Boko Haram fighters were among the 27 killed.

The government of the country also announced a raft of measures to tighten security in the capital, which serves as the headquarters for a 3,000-strong French mission – known as Barkhane – fighting militancy in the continent.

“Chad would continue its merciless pursuit of the terrorists so that no drop of Chadian blood spilt goes unpunished,” the military said in a statement.
