Hameed Oyegbade, chairman of of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Osun state, has been given an award of excellence.
The Osun state chapter of Congress of Nigerian Youth CONYO, which singled out Oyegbade for honour, said it is in recognition of his contributions to the society.
Taiwo Adedayo, coordinator of CONYO in the state, presented the plaque to Oyegbade at the secretariat of the Osun NUJ Correspondents’ chapel Osun in Osogbo, the state capital.
Adedayo, who said the award was based on merit, added that the group carefully selected the recipient.

He urged Oyegbade to see the award as a challenge to spur him to do more.
Responding, Oyegbade expressed gratitude to CONYO for considering him worthy of the honour and promised to continue to serve the humanity with total committeemen and dedication.
“I like to thank CONYO for this honour as I pray to God to give me more wisdom and strength to do more and justify this award. I thank CONYO for honouring me with this award and I’m grateful,” he said.
