How the CHAN Eagles fared against Rwanda

The CHAN Eagles played out a 0-0 draw with Rwanda on Monday night. TheCable runs the rules over the team.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa: He was confident handling balls in his goal area and was decent when called upon to help his side. 7/10.

Osas Okoro: He justified his selection by holding his own against the Rwandan strikers and was rarely dribbled. 6/10

Stephen Eze: The Kano Pillars defender was tentative in some tackles and he was also beaten by the Rwandan attack on a couple of occasions. He was unlucky not to score. 5.5/10

Orji Kalu: Kalu displayed heart and commitment as he stood his ground against the aggressive attackers of the Rwandan team. He rarely lost any one-on-one duel and was also very strong in the air. 6/10

Daniel Itodo: He was caught out of place in the first half but adapted better in the second half. 5/10

Ifeanyi Ifeanyi: He did not show up enough as there were continuous gaps in the Eagles midfield. 4/10

Emeka Atuloma: Quality display from Atuloma to shield the back four from the Rwandan attack. 6/10

Rabiu Ali: The veteran’s calmness helped to snuff out some of the aggression of the Amavubi. 7/10

Emeka Ogbugh: He could not get his combination play going with Okpotu. He had a shot on target in the first half. 4/10

Anthony Okpotu: It was a poor day at the office for Okpotu as he looked lost in attack for the Eagles. He could hardly make any sort of headway and when he succeeded in getting past his markers, his delivery was poor.

Sunday Faleye: The young lad was lively but killed his high work rate with misses in front of goal. 4/10

Substitutes

Austine Oladapo: He came on for Ifeanyi and added some bite to the midfield. 6/10

Ibrahim Mustapha: Mustapha replaced Okpotu but there was little difference. 4/10
