Traffic is a normal occurrence in the cosmopolitan city of Lagos. As a matter of fact, there is hardly any part of the city without vehicular traffic.
However, the Ojota pedestrian bridge witnessed unprecedented human traffic on Monday. An accident leading to the death of three persons on Sunday night made the state government to mobilise security agencies to the area to enforce the use of the pedestrian bridge.
The result? Chaos – and cusswords for the state government by people who spent more than an hour queuing up just to cross the bridge from a side to the other.
