Carlos Estévez, American actor best known as Charlie Sheen, on Tuesday opened up that he was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS four years ago.
In an interview on a popular American television programme, Sheen said he did not know how he contracted the disease.
“I’m here to admit that I’m HIV positive,” he said.
“I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths.”

The actor said he had “lost million” in the bid to prevent the information from going public.
“The truth became treason leading to blackmail and extortion and a circle of deceit,” he said.
“I trusted them, they were in my inner circle and thought they could be helpful. My trust turned to their treason,” he said, adding a prostitute took a picture of his medication and threatened to sell it to newspapers.
