Chelsea stars, Victor Moses and Mikel Obi, were the hero for the Super Eagles who defeated their Algerian counterpart by 3-1.
The game started with the Fennecs sitting back waiting to hit the Eagles on the counter, but the 25th minute goal from Moses pushed the visitors out of their shell.
Moses had earlier missed an opportunity after deciding to go for the goal instead of squaring for other players who were in better positions.
Mikel added the second goal in the 42nd minute after he was played onside by the Algerian defence, off a pass by Etebo Oghenekaro.

With a thunderbolt in the 67th minute, Nabir Bentalab of Algeria sent Daniel Akpeyi, Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, into no man’s land.
Moses however sealed the victory with the third goal in the 90th minute.
He finished off a counter attack to preserve the teams’ two goals advantage.

The Eagles were on the back foot for most part of the second half, but were able to hold on for the victory that put them four points ahead of Cameroon in second position.
The victory put Eagles a step closer to qualification after their opponents, Cameroon and Zambia, played a 1-1 draw in Cameroon.
In their first qualifier game, the Nigerian side defeated Zambia 2-1 on their soil.
The Eagles will be taking on Cameroon as they continue their quest to qualify for a major championship after missing AFCON back-to-back.
