Chelsea ran riot at Swansea City, scoring four times before halftime on the way to a 5-0 win that sent them five points clear in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

Oscar and Diego Costa scored two apiece inside the opening 36 minutes as Swansea were torn apart. Substitute Andre Schuerrle got his name on the score sheet late in a more balanced second half.

Manchester United scored two second-half goals to beat Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

Substitute Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring just before the hour, before fellow sub James Wilson added a second in stoppage time.

Goals from Fabio Borini and substitute Rickie Lambert helped Liverpool inflict more misery on beleaguered Aston Villa and their under-fire manager Paul Lambert in a 2-0 win at Villa Park.

For the second weekend running, Dwight Gayle and Jason Puncheon rescued Crystal Palace to secure a significant victory at Burnley.

The pair both scored in the come-from-behind win over Tottenham seven days ago and repeated the feat at Turf Moor, as the Eagles recovered from being 2-0 down after 16 minutes to seal a 3-2 at Selhurst Park.

Leicester City’s mini-revival was ended as Bojan Krkic gave Stoke City 1-0 win against the bottom side at the King Power Stadium.

Bojan scored the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute, following a period of pressure from Mark Hughes’ men.

Christian Eriksen’s strike with two minutes remaining gave Tottenham a hard-earned 2-1 victory against Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

Spurs took an early lead through Jan Vertonghen only to see Sebastian Larsson equalise with just half-an-hour gone.

The game looked to be drifting towards a draw before substitute Andros Townsend broke down the right and laid the ball across to Eriksen, whose low shot from 18 yards went in off the post.

Eljero Elia scored twice as Southampton defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park.

The Saints took the lead in the 14th minute when Eljero Elia found the target with his right foot from close range after being teed up by James Ward-Prowse.

Newcastle restored parity just before the half-hour mark through Yoan Gouffran, who shot home from inside the Southampton penalty box.
